George Plechaty MD
George Plechaty, M.D. is a general Ophthalmologist practicing in Hawaii. He has been doing phacoemulsification since 1977 and still has an interest in cataract surgery. He is an assistant clinical professor of the John A. Burns School of Medicine and serves as interviewer for applicants to the medical school. Dr. Plechaty has also participated in the summer internship program as well as the clinical teaching of medical students.

He received his medical degree from Georgetown University and did his residency at New York Medical College. He is the co-author of several medical articles dealing with retinal vascular physiology and its relation to carotid occlusive disease as manifested by the ocular pulse.

He lives in Honolulu with his wife Joann and two sons. He enjoys surfing when he can and watching his sons surf when he cannot. He does not golf.
